How to Move Your Caret Notes to Tiro | Migration Guide
Want to keep using the meeting records you have built up in Caret? With Tiro, you can import the notes you export from Caret.
First, export your data from Caret by September 1, 2026. You do not have to finish the migration right away. As long as you keep the exported zip file, you can move it into Tiro any time before September 14, 2026 (KST).
Keep using your Caret records in Tiro
Meeting records are more than plain text. They hold who said what and in what context, which decisions were made, and what you need to revisit.
Even though Caret is shutting down, the records you have already built up do not have to disappear with it. Tiro reads the zip file you export from Caret and helps you move your existing notes into a Tiro workspace.
Here is what Tiro offers:
Records every video meeting without sending a meeting bot (Windows/Mac desktop app)
The fastest and most extensive API/MCP/CLI support of any AI meeting-note service
Excellent transcription quality in Korean as well as English
Rigorous security practices (ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type 2 certified)
To migrate your Caret notes to Tiro, head to Tiro web. Choose the workspace where you want to save the notes, upload your Caret zip file, and select the notes to import.
Before you start
💡
The trial plan, the Lite plan, and workspaces without a subscription are not supported.
The file must be the original zip exported from Caret. Its name has to start with caret-meetings-export, and please upload it as is, without unzipping it or changing the folder structure.
During the migration period, notes imported from a Caret zip file do not count against your usage.
Two ways to migrate
1. Bring transcripts over as text
This is the fastest option, and the one we recommend. When you include Markdown in your Caret export, Tiro builds notes from the original transcript.
Speaker labels and timestamps come over with it, while Tiro generates the paragraph summaries and the one-page document fresh. There is no daily usage limit.
2. Bring the original audio files over
When you include Audio recordings in your Caret export, Tiro re-transcribes the original audio. It can take longer, but after the migration you can replay the audio paragraph by paragraph in Tiro.
The audio-file method processes up to 10 notes per account per day. If you have more than 10 notes, upload the same zip file again the next day to pick up where you left off.
How to migrate, step by step
1. Export your data from Caret
Click Export data at the top of the Caret app.
To bring your notes over as text, include Markdown in the export. To bring the audio files too, also include Audio recordings. You can select both.
2. Import into Tiro
Log in to Tiro web, then open the Caret migration page.
Choose the workspace where you want to store your Caret notes. (Only workspaces subscribed to the Pro plan or higher can be selected.)
Choose your method: the transcript or the original audio files.
Upload the zip file you exported from Caret.
Select the notes to import and start the import.
Check the result in the toast at the bottom right.
Once the import starts, you cannot change the target workspace. Double-check where your notes will be saved before you proceed.
FAQ
Q: Can I use this in the desktop app?
No. Caret migration is available on Tiro web only.
Q: Which method should I choose?
In most cases we recommend bringing transcripts over as text. It imports quickly and has no daily usage limit. If you really need paragraph-by-paragraph audio playback, choose the original audio files instead.
Q: I cannot upload the zip file.
Make sure it is the original zip file exported from Caret. Its name has to start with caret-meetings-export, and unzipping it or changing its internal structure can cause the import to fail.
